Sam

Sam is a Master of Social Work student at Western Carolina University with a passion for holistic wellness and environmental justice. Before graduate school, she worked at a nonprofit and lived in rural Peru for two years as a volunteer in the Peace Corps. In her free time, she can be found hiking or reading, and is looking forward to becoming a Horticultural Therapist after graduation.

Sam says: “Helping others grow, especially in a space surrounded by nature, reminds me every day of how resilient and beautiful people can be.”

• BA in Chinese and Political Science from UNC Chapel Hill
• MSW from Western Carolina University (expected graduation May 2026)
• Spanish fluency.
